Welding characteristic :
Galvanized steel sheet needs more welding current as the contact surface of the
electrode TIP of the Galvanized steel sheet, becomes larger under the same electrode
pressure. This is because the materials of the galvanized steel sheet is more tender or
flexible than the other general steel sheets.
Calorific power of the galvanized steel sheet is a bit less than the one of iron as the
resistance of the zinc, 5.9 x 10cm, is lower than 9.8 x 10cm of the resistance of the iron.
Corrosion resistance :
The galvanized steel sheet protects Fe from being corroded by the sacrificing anode
function of (according to) GALVANIC ACTION of the zinc. This can be accomplished by
zinc galvanizing which has better corrosion resistance than the one of Fe. (Zn-Zn+2e,
2H+2e-H) When the galvanized steel sheet is disposed to the air a fine film of zinc is
made on the surface of the sheet and acts as a anticorrosive film action.
Coating capability :
As the zinc are equivalently or evenly galvanized over the surface of materials the surface
is plain and has excellent painting close adhesion characteristic. The corrosion
resistance of the galvanized steel sheet will also increase after the coating.
Processing capability :
The mechanical characters or aspects of the materials remain intact as there is no
external heat influence unlike melt galvanized steel sheet. With this advantageous aspect
of the materials the degradation of quality does not occur during the formation and press
processing due to no plating peeling off-phenomenon .
